What is the function of this part?
« on: 30 October 2012, 20:27:43 »

Could someone please tell me the function of the part with a red arrow pointing at it?
A cable plug (yellow arrow) is connected to the component.

This is a photo on the cable plug/connector on my car. Could this be the rear multiram connector?

Thanks a lot. Means that I have a broken rear multi ram actuation valve :(
This little part of the valve was connected to the cable plug but unfortunately not connected to the rest of the valve...

1. Does anyone know the part number for this valve?
2. The engine seems to run fine, even if this valve is not connected ??? Could someone explain this to me, please.
Will I see any difference when i get a new rear multi ram actuation valve and connect it?

...and that plug resting on the cable tray, means its not working.

Or is this a work in progress pic?

Ah, just seen you last.

Engine will run fine. It alters the length of the inlet tract via a valve in the plenum.

In conjunction with the front multi ram, it tunes the intake to give both high and low rpm power.

If either fail, you'll see loss of power and economy in either the top or bottom half of the rev range.

I'm sure a used one will be fine. You might get a pm from one of the breakers here. Or ask one of the admins to move this, or a sales advert composed in test zone, to the sale/wanted section for you.

you will notice a difference when you plant your right foot into the floor, this valve opens at 4000 rpm and increases performance, it works in tandem with the front multi ram on the bagpipes.

I've just Pm'd you about that Albs!!

Thingymabob that's a coincidence I broke mine aswell. Engine runs fine but as said you can feel a difference when you accelerate hard. Luckily for me I've only done a few miles since and it's easy to fix! Serves me right for being so brash!

You can always fit the one off the secondary air injection as a temporary fix. :y
