Been away for a few days, just back.

9th/10th June is grand for me, just give me a campsite to throw our tent up and jobs a good 'un.  Not really fussy where, happy to go with local thoughts.  Prefer less kids running around rather than more (its the old fart, pre-granparent gene present in most of us!!) but not really that fussed.  Used to camping in a green field, so no real probs with spade, paper and a box of matches.  And she says the same as well....  Warm showers is a bonus, granted!  Thats what happens when you have been Scouting for too many years......   :P

Park Foot is a very popular site and one thing we havn't considered is availability for such a good turnout, in June is going to be very difficult.  I used to store my Caravan near here and they used to have a Rally field.  Some electric hook ups, showers near by and nice and quiet.  The owner also runs his HGV from a shed on site and it we need any tools he'll have them.  I'll call tomorrow and see if its
free on the 9/10th and feed back when I know.  And yes, the pub is less than a mile away  :)

I thought he was talking about using peat for fire fuel.

Bit of a Shame, as i thoiught we all generally liked Pete, but on the up-side, that would leave a spare meega should anyone need one :D

No Man in Black fans here then??

For those that don't know, thats Johnnie Cash, famous singer of the song 'Ring of Fire'...    ;D

and yes, matches are for ritual burning of the used paper.  Starts the decomposition process off a treat....   :y

Anyone seen the film Jarhead?  Star of a Vietnam war moovie gets a punishment detail where he has to remove the cut 45 gallon drums full of assorted cr*p and paper etc (known as Honey Buckets, apparently....) from beneath the stalls of the latrines (or bog stalls, to us Brits...  ;)) and then put a good splurge of diesel inthem and set them on fire.  Has to put one back when the C.O. wants to go for a dump, then has to do the deed later.  Ends up getting rat arsed, then dancing around in a santa hat??

Same idea, but the santa hat is an option...   ;D
