The probable fault lies within the main abs ecu which is situated on the nearside just below the pas reservoir.

It is the black box that sits ontop of the pump with the brake pipes running from it.An electrical fault develops inside and causes a fault with the pick up to the speedo/abs and power steering.

The module needs removing and ideally sent to BBA reman for repair which is about £130 all in.They turn them around in a few days if repairable, but they would ring you first to advise of fault and cost.

You could risk getting a second hand unit of an identical year and engine /gearbox type as your car, although there is no certainty that will work either.

If you intend keeping the car my advise is a repair of your unit.

Most of us have gone down that route and it is the best imho.

Excellent write up in the maintenance section of what is involved.

If its the same engine, size wheels and year you should get away with just swapping the ECU but if its different your car will need a chat with a tech 2 ;)
