Saw the other day they've shut the Argos shop on the trading estate near me and moved into the Sainsburys in town.

If they'd stuck a Ford badge on it it'd have fetched at least twice as much! The prices of practically any Ford these days is frankly stupid. Most were rubbish when new and I can't see them having improved with age.

Once read a book about the bloke who was the test "dummy" for the Martin Baker ejector seat.To begin with they capped the tower that the seat shot up so it got to the top, stopped and then slowly came back to the bottom. Many tests were carried out in this manner until eventually they removed the cap.First test without the cap man and seat shot skyward and returned to earth on a parachute whereupon he suffered severe injuries[broken bones etc]because they'd forgotten to tell him that he was supposed to separate himself from the seat so each would come down on their own 'chutes so he'd come down still strapped in the seat and the one 'chute wasn't enough to slow things down enough before hitting the floor!

Yes to undoing the damper from the  trailing arm, however there is a nut under the trailing arm which holds the lower spring mounting and the "bolt" that this screws onto has a tendency to spin when undoing the nut Volvo in their wisdom gave this "bolt" a round flat head [rather like a rivet]making it hard to get a decent grip on especially as it's in the centre of the spring coils.
