According to computer, I am currently getting 26.3mpg over the last 500 miles from my 3.0l auto.

Over short distances (ie, less than 20m) I have been known to average single figures

I had a weekend away in the lake district and did just over 600 miles in the 3 days shows an Ave. of 34.2 most of it was motorway driving with cruise on 75 in eco mode so not bad for 3.0 . I had rover 75 diesel before that and got bout 48 on a m way run and before that rover 75 2.0 v6 and got bout 34 so the 3.0 is very good when you consider that.

what does the eco button actually do / change ? All  know is the aircon dosnt work when its on ?

Ah I see I have just reset the display so I will test it and re post as I think its been a while since it was last done , thus giving me a far better reading than is accuratte

It averages since you last reset, so the longer that is, the more miss daisy / bo duke you need to influence it.

good point that , does the computer readout continually monitor the consumption ie if you go for a 10 mile wipe out , will it show a reduced figure ? I know there is another one on there I think it is constant reading , I know that drops if you engage sports made and drive hard ? I am sure one of the tech guys will know

If the kids are in the car then no I do not speed , but if I am out on my own , I have been known to use the sports mode   , but generally I am a plodder

Hi all just wondered what all the rest of you were managing ? My 98 2.5 averges 33 mpg , thats short and long runs , how does that fair with your results ?

I used the red vauxhall coolant and it gave me two leaks, none of which I had with the old coolant, so the new mix must have found the weak spots.  

Oh not good   I was just thinking ahead for when I find the leak ( our joint problem ! ) next week

about £10 from dealer for 5l. Needs to be mixed 50:50, so thats enough for 10l

I have seen someone on here saying that it is the best ( of its kind ) ( with my ongoing coolant leak I might as well drain it all and replace ) so 2 questions

1 why is it better than the others ?

2 where can you buy it please.

Omega General Help / Touch up stick or Colour polish ?

Been out doing my one panel a night again , I have just finished the bonnet , after cutting and polishing for two hours , I have noticed a few  stone chips that were just covered in road "film" before I started. So what would you do ? Use a coloured polish or paint stick to try and rectify the problem. Any advice would be very gratful as always

Sounds similiar to mine , under braking , only some of the time I am getting steering judder , then a mile down the road same speed , I break no judder ? I haven't got to the bottom of mine yet , I will try and find out what is causing it and post on here . Loo Knee & Pete seem to think Wishbone bushes ?
