New oil and filter fitted today by the garage who said the original oil was low , so once again you lot were right :) haven't got the car back yet , asked them to look at the front arm bushes ( I think thats right ) to try and stop the juddering ( not all the time ) when braking, so hopefully should have it back tommorrow . As always many thanks for the help and advice , really great bunch on a very freindly and well informed chatboard.

Thanks very much for the info , I have never  checked the levels as the car only does very few miles, I just hope it is the levels and not that the box is knackered. Thanks again

Omega General Help / Auto box slipping
« on: 10 March 2009, 17:17:19 »
Hi all , car has gone to the garage to have new oil and filter done for auto box. I have noticed that from cold takes 200m to change into 2nd gear even at low revs , then after giving it a good run at the weekend the auto gave up the ghost and I albut coasted into my road. went out 30 mins later seemed ok , today took it for short run , from a rolling 10 mph start the revs go to 6000 then the gearbox kicks in ? Gagrage are going to look at it before doing the oil change incase it is something more sinister, he did mention if the oil level eas low anyway it may cause this. Yours views would be very welcome on this please. Thanks as ever
