Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Central locking issues.
« on: 05 March 2019, 17:48:09 »
Can anyone please help. Basically I have a 2003 2.6 v6 elite that i am having issues with the central locking. Basically it does what it wants. The remote has stopped working but when it did it would reset it self with the ignition on trick and button down. Now I have to use the key but even still sometimes it all locks. Sometimes it all unlocks. Then sometimes the drivers door locks on it's own then it will lock with a passenger door or a rear door..... I have been told it could be the ECU.  I know nothing about this all so please help anyone..
 Thanks

Hello all again. I have my had my 2.6 elite that long and I am trying to sort out all the niggles to make it perfect. One of the questions I've got is the previous owner decided to remove to self levelling suspension on the rear and replace it all with bikstein stuff. However I've just used it to tow and when trailer attached or under load the car seems to sit extremely low at the back so much so that the exhaust sometimes scrapes  is there a chance the shocks or springs are wrong or too soft. Or is there a more heavy duty shock that can be used.. thanks ahai

Sorry all. Been away on a course for 4 weeks so been busy busy busy. Ok so I'll explain what happens.
1 remote fob is dead as someone has tried soldering it and bridged it. The other looks new and lights flash but wont operate anything on the car. When I use the key it always unlocks the drivers door and fuel cap. But then does sporadic things like sometimes will unlock all the car. Sometimes one rear door sometimes the passenger door. I have tried putting the key in and pressing the buttons in stage 1 ignition but nothing happens. All lights open when I open the doors and I have tried swapping round the solenoid in drivers door and still does the same so I am guessing it is going to be the alarm ECU as I have been told this is a common problem

Afternoon all. Dont suppose anyone knows anyone in the Bedford area that is recommended for a cambelt change on my old girl. Everyone that I've been too doesn't want to do it because it's to old and I've been told they havent got the tools or the cheapest quote I've been given so far is £700!!
Thanks in advance. Ler

I am aware of the resynching mode. That is not the problem. The key unlocks operates the central locking like stated already  but only unlocks the fuel cap. Like I said if you use the key it operates the drivers door and fuel cap only.

Omega General Help / Central locking

Hello all. I'm new to the forum having just brought myself a 2.6 elite. Had various omega years ago and then children  come along and had to buy a people carrier but always vowed I'd get another one so here I am. Anyway car is lovely but o only problem is the central locking. If I lock the car with the remote only the fuel cap locks. If I lock the car with the key the fuel cap and drivers door lock. However when unlocking the car work the key the indicators flash as if the alarm is going off but no sound until I  switch the ignition on. So I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks in advance. Regards lee
