2.5 V6 Swindon engine, lightly modified.
« on: 28 March 2013, 20:37:13 »

I'm just putting feelers out at this stage as I have a bad feeling about my gearbox which I just cant afford to replace.

If the car ends up being broken I will be offering the engine up for sale but I have little idea what it's worth.
Here's the spec:
Swindon racing engine no. VV019
New cam belt kit
New water pump
3.2 Exhaust manifolds fitted with GM gaskets.
Stainless steel oil cooler
Alloy rocker covers (plasitics would come with the engine)

In the short time I was driving the car with this engine fitted I found it to be very quiet and smooth with an aggressive pull at about 4000rpm.

Any ideas what it's worth?

Im still hoping to get the car running this weekend but as I said I'm not feeling too optimistic at the mo!

its essentially very similar to the standard 2.5, so I'd value it at £300 considering its just been apart and cleaned, etc.

do you need a gearbox ? I've got one about to meet the skip which you can have for a tenner

Hi I have a 2.5 manual in swindon that is likely to be going to the scrappy you can take that one out if you want it.  All I would ask in return is a hand to remove the engine as its only done 6k. Let me know :y
