Performance vauxhall show 2009
« on: 27 December 2008, 14:45:16 »

I'm just putting a quick poll together to see if it is worth trying to arrange some sort of meet for the pvs 09.
I've only found a couple of people that are interested.
Ideally i would love to show my car, and have a load of us do the same, and do it on an OOF pitch.
I think i may be dreaming a little.
But it would be nice to see how much interest there is.

been for the last couple of years found a nice lil campsite a short distance from the pod and spend the weekend with freinds and there families ....
pvs is well worth a visit if youve never been before but wouldnt advice camping onsite due to the drunken shananagans you hear about ...
most of the vauxhall brands are present in some form or another ... :y

That's good to know, but i think were too late for a stand on pvs 09.
I was looking on a forum on another site i'm a member of, and they said that they had been making preperations for pvs 09 for the last 3 months.
If there's enough interest, it may be worth suggesting something to admin for us to put up a stand in pvs 10.
But by the look of the response i've had, i don't think there's enough interest on oof.  :-[

I was there last year, and every other year since 2003 :)  I organise it for a forum I own & run, but last year we had no stand...  Might have one this year tho...

Last year I...
 • did a piss-poor 1/4 mile...
 • got stuck in the mud...
 • drank nowhere near enough on the Saturday night...
Will be there again this year, so might just see a few peeps about!

Hopefully my Omega will look a little different too by then...

As for organising one for OOF, I remember last year that people were saying noooo, others were with other forums & such, but I can give details for a chap called Ian who manages all the stands and such if someone does decide to try organise this for OOF.

*edit2*

If someone does organise this, you can only have as many car passes as tickets purchased for the show event.  If OOF do have a stand though, I'll happily put my car on if you want it  ::)

Its usually worth putting down as many car passes as tickets purchased too, as then you get more space to play with.  Tickets are sold on a per-person basis, car passes are *free*.

i think the reason theres a lack of interest is because alot of people on here are already members of other paying clubs (if you want to call an internet based forum such as vxon a club)
or even vvoc for example that have PVS stands
i dont think the forum users see oof as something that they'd be interested for example of having a stand at pvs which is full of chaved up corsas, novas, astras and some vectras and cavs

if im wrong then i want everybody on oof to tell me :P

The only reason i put up the thread to start with was i was just enquiring to whether anyone on here would be up for having a pitch at the pvs, and showing their pride and joy.
Obviously you get all the chavs in their little 1.1 boomboxes.
But, we are the daddies.... Literally.
Mines a 3.0l mv6, put that next to a corsa, and who'll win off the lights?  ;D
But the show isn't just for chavs, it's for vauxhall enthusiasts, and i would consider myself one.

Thats the thing, if we want to put a stand up i think we're too late for this year, but would be interested in one for next year?

No no no, LCOC are the daddies  8-) (Lotus Carlton Owners Club)

And its not too late to sort something either, the deadline to get tickets ordered it by the 1st week of May.  You need to send the order to Ian at PVS/Future Publishing by then so you can get a good pitch.

If there is an OOF stand, I will be on it no mater what!!!  :y

However at the moment I will be going with another club (not 100% sure yet which one).

What clubs are you lot thinking of / are going with to pvs 2009? We could go with the same club and get a few migs together maybe if all else fails?!?:y  :D

well at  the moment, i'm either going with vectra-sport (but leaving the car in the car park), or i will be showing it with xtremevx.com
Only a small club, just starting up, but they have a pitch, and you can show any vauxhall model,
currently, i am the only miggy on the site....
