there is a few hotels and b&b's around shifnal area but you'll be paying roughly the same where ever you stay.

i know of one b&b in shifnal that charges £45 a night for a single room.
if i get chance at the weekend i'll nip down and find out some more prices.

Hi Guys, I got my trade card from ABS so off i went to get all the bits i need for a cambelt change. Is this party still open to OFF members that need thier Belts doing or is it too late?

Mark (TOMOCO)

Needs cambelt kit, water pump and aux belt fitting

Not an expert but never done a V6 belt before, i've done basic servicing, plugs, oil, some electrics

Got a toolbox and trolley jack (if anyone needs to borrow it)

Right, we will need to be doing at least 3 cam-belts simultaneously in order to get that little lot done in a day (should be do-able).

I would appreciate it if at least one of the ones I get to do is a 4 pot (would make a change!)

Might be worth me doing the idler arm to as I can then demonstrate the '2 hammer trick'.

I suspect other jobs could be done in parralel.........I would love to see everybody leaving with a properly set handbrake but, that might just be wishful thinking on my part.  ;D

I was getting concerned about the amount to do.  I was hoping someone could look at my coolant and smell of burning oil, but that will have to wait until another time  :'(

As an idea, if eveyone gets there early, if MDTM/JV6CDX/Me etc show people what to do, then members strip their own cars down?  Would that speed things up a bit?  Perhaps same idea for handbrake adjust?  Would that improve things speed wise?

Bagsie I don't do the 3.2 ;D, though wouldn't mind seein git done.

Yep, probably would.  I'm happy to be hands on and strip out bagpipes, plenum, SAI etc etc .  Can be down there on the friday evening for an early start on the Saturday but that will need a rethink as to someplace to kip...
