Anyone want £25,000 for free ?
« on: 08 May 2018, 11:20:04 »

Well if your over 25 bad luck. If your under 25 though you might be in luck !!
The Resolution foundation (who ?) headed by David Willets, a former Tory MP has recommended that everyone should be given £25k from the Govt. money tree when they reach the age of 25.
What better way to encourage the huge sense of entitlement of the snowflake generation.
You don't need to work and struggle to get what you want in life. The rest of us will give it to you.
The world really has gone fickin mad. This is the kind of thing you would have seen as a sketch in a comedy programme not long ago.
Now its a serious recommendation from a supposedly serious think tank type organisation.
They also recommend that people who carry on working past retirement age should now pay national insurance to fund the NHS.
This will obviously mean that people wont carry on working and will be less self reliant and more likely to be reliant on the state.
Depraved neo Marxism.

Albs, is this one of your jokes? If true, it beggars belief. Even Donald Trump couldn't have given birth to such  crackpot idea, and we all know how f*ucking stupid HE is!

It isnt a spoof but a suggestion to tackle a real problem. However as Migv6 says handing out to every 25 year old isnt the answer. Oh and the other detail is more tax for some pensioners

I see Norway has suspended universal salary for everyone regardless of status. They were going to be the first country to implement it. Large entities like Facebook, Google are apparently in favour. Not surprising as those folks just sitting at home getting a living wage have loads of time on their hands so where better to spend it than with global companies. Things will have to change if , as predicted, AI and robots will take menial jobs away from the workforce. I am a bit sceptical, as I remember clearly in the seventies being told to prepare for more leisure time and four or possibly three day working weeks with the advent of computers. We actually ended up working longer......

I'd spend the money on booze, cocaine, and loose women.

I'm not sure if that makes for a good investment but who gives a f*uck. :)

Exactly how any other 25 year old will think, in fact, and why it's a daft idea. ;D

Nor me, fark em. Ive got far call and grafted for my far call. They can do the same.  ;D
Or they can turn up for school and listen (unlike me), then graft, and they may do ok for themselves, in which case, good luck to them.  :)
Nothings for nothing in this life, and that's the way it should be.
