after many attempts to get lobes at first cylinder pointing upwards, (as per Haynes)found it was not possible and therefore only as near as possible also got  cam sprockets on with teeth to be 4 tooth marks before TDC.  removed locking tool inadvertently before replacing timing belt and sprockets moved approximately two teeth marks. :-/

Does anyone know if this will cause a problem in anyway at all in resetting timing belt to be seated and setting timing :question

Can I ignore and continue.  I do not wan't to go through the whole procedure of resetting to four tooth belt as will have to release end caps etc. :exclamation

Mrs E's shopping trolley - 51 plate clit 1.4 - failed its MOT this morning .. :(

ARB Bolt sheared - fixed - new bolt a sod to fit ... had to jack the wishbone to level to get the bits to line up, then jack the ARB hard on to squeeze the rubber sufficiently to get the nut on !! :) £8

Brake imbalance - stripped, cleaned, reassembled both brake calipers, did the tricks Daz showed me at Newent .. brakes seem good now. £0

Steering rack inner ball joint excessive play - parts bought £97 and some more tools (Byron - I now own some ball joint splitters :) ) £30. Hope to do this next Thursday AM  :)

Emissions excessive CO at idle - misfire - Drove it like I stole it for 20 miles, stuck the GS500 on it and everything "looks" OK ... and no codes at all either stored or pending.... gonna stick some injector cleaner through it and take for a thrashing before it gets its retest - can't change the plugs as I've had to order a sparkplug tool from my local factors - £15 !! as nowt I've got works :(

Not a lot really ... but what did surprise me was the mileage .... she only did 1200 miles in the last year !!!!

 :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Washed the Elite and tightened the handbrake. It's a beautiful car. Oh and put another coat of Hammerite on the inside and underside of rear arches after i stripped the rust away as a preventative measure before it gets too bad. I'll never part with it. I'll even sort the bodywork and respray it all when it gets  bit tired, better than getting a fwd egg carton shitbox shed. They could double the price of petrol but I'll still let the beast drink :y

Removed a centre tie rod.Pita job to do.Spent hours trying to seperate the steering knuckle from the bottom of the steering box, but finally admitted defeat and split the ball joint at the other end instead.

I think I might have sold mine today :D,got made an offer that I couldn't refuse pending a favourable insurance quote, should know tomorrow, then I can start looking for what I should have bought in the first place,a 3.2 as I've always found mine slightly lacking in the go department .

Sent Mrs TB to work in the MV6.

I neglected to mention the knackered gearbox and shot wishbone bushes....  ....I wonder if she'll notice?
