I had this problem Webby. IIRC there is a steel (:-\) boss attached to the inside into which the plug screws. I re-tapped mine a bit larger and fitted a new plug. :y

Thanks mate. So is the steel boss supposed to be captive and has broken away from its held position? If so I can whip pan off and get a company round my way to Ali weld it back on

Its attached to the inside of the sump, probably welded on. :y

Evening girls. So I’ve sorted my autobox pan issue.

Took pan off and I turned the level plug and the whole boss that Shackeng mentioned was spinning with the bolt. A couple of decent blobs of weld either side of said boss and the omegas sorted.

Cheers for your help guys 😘😘😘😘😘

Surely it's "technician" these days? and you have to get the repetition of two phrases down to a fine art. 1] The computer says no 2] The computer says it's this.Oh wait there's 3]That will be £XXXX please.

so did I. But the modern usage has devalued it and many other terms** so I now use mechanic.

For example, the bloke who turns up to tighten a leaking pipe fitting is NOT an engineer.
