It's technically panel replacement rather than a patch repair, so be interesting to get a definitive answer from Henry D :y

A patch repair continuously welded is an acceptable repair anywhere on the shell,its suspension arms and the like that shouldn't be welded
better to cut out complete than patch--having to replace patches on cars--as metal under patch can corrode-then your back to square one again
I would rough cut one from scrapper and then drill spot welds and then install

That is crying out for hydraulics.... you could easily get away with turning that into a taildragger....
next job is air ride on front and rear---thats hydraulics in case you wondered --nothing radical - just 3inch drop

Take hours mate--got to remove inlets and then you can get to heads--its not simple unless you got all the tools and some experience--try james cdx   I cant help--got a roof chop and v8 install going on at moment--

MY rover -Black Rose has now got twin exhausts--each exits in front of rear wheels---the silencers are cherry bombs--and it sounds lovely---what pipes did I use?--Garden swing :D Yep 3 inch diameter 1.2mm thick-cost £000

mate whats up with you---you saw me re black plastic with a heat gun---ffs  the plastic fades because uv from sun dries out -so heat gun brings color back---anybody that does bodywork knows this old trick  :y

Take you got a cat--I have not got a cat--I got Merlin -ome eyed idiot that does all sorts of things nightmares are made of--eg=scratches on car from claws-constantly knocks anything off coffee table--pulls cupboard door open and shreds bag of kitty biccys and nicks them-wiats for mrs to polish table then he comes in with muddy paws and jumps on table=muddy prints everywere--EMD will tell you I got a mad cat !!! Bit like his so called owner==me-- :-\
