Must be immense, massive tuning capability I would say, even breathing on it slightly surely would make it stupidly fast?

Hi Thanks its been hard work but got there lol.
It should be running about 300 bhp I just need to update the clutch and see how the car holds upto to the power then I will go full bpu which should get me to 420 bhp near abouts.
I haven't actually driven at any pace yet it has just been
Around the yard so I'm really looking forward to the test drive 😁

Hi there thanks I will make a few videos once its mot.d I'm just cleaning it up underneath
This weekend and have the rear subframe off for cleaning up then I can fit the lsd I got for it Il update
It all very soon its really getting exciting now it only took me 4 years lol.
I'm very anxious to drive it lol :)

Was it an easy install? Did you have to cut any body parts, like the transmission tunnel, to get the gear box in maybe?
Presumably engine mounts needed moving? Any problems with exhaust routing? Guessing not as it's quite a narrow motor :y
Did you use toyota engine management? And was that easy to integrate with omega systems?

Hi there the engine went In quite easily the battery box had to be moved out for the cooler pipe. Abs was moved up without any re wiring the ecu was tricky there's lots and lots of wires lol but we got it in eventually all the working on the dash.exhaust was simple enough I just joined the Toyota downpipe with omega system. Gearbox fitted perfectly. no tunnel cutting needed. The only real issue was I had ti make a custom manifold To move the turbos forward to make room for the steeringbox that's the only problem ive had with it being right hand drive all the conversions on the web have been left hand drive.

Not at all, we love these stories we do. The challenges involved. Etc... :y
Steerng box on right hand drive omegas offers more of a challenge. Very evident on my mv8 project. Starter motor, exhaust, and either box or steering column all converge in one place.

Thanks yeah conversions are certainly challenging lol especially with this being my first ive learned a lot over 4 years lol ive put 1000s of hrs into it.
glad its completed now thow. I did often think it would be easier to buy a Subaru or golf etc but I like to do something a little different lol Il update you soon over the next few weeks thanks :y

Thanks mate the brakes took me a while to fabricate but it was worth it I think.
they just about fitted on with my 19s they are 360mm discs and calipers from the range rover sport and are oversized 4 pots I was well pleased they fitted on lol

ouch!!!! that's stunning. To be honest I don't get that excited when i see these engine swaps, but will speak out when I see a good 'un; which that certainly is!! :y
Mind if I just inquire - about the RR Brakes - isn't there a difference in the PCD? If it's an easy conversion I can image several chaps on here (me included) being interested in a beefy brake upgrade ;)

The vauxhall brake line is a direct fit into the calipers. I had the discs cnc machined to 5x110 and got a friend to make me some steel centre rings for the discs to locate onto so they sat perfectly centred onto my hubs

And I got quoted 1.400 for a aftermarket direct bolt on kit so I saved a fair bit

thats cheap :y i had done 6 pot conversion on mine but used Q7 calipers
now working on 4 pot conversion for rear

The Q7 are nice calipers but abit out of my price range lol you will have to get some pictures up when you have finished the rear conversion :y

Hi all I just wanted to update my post the omega is finally mot'd and back on the road after a 4 year project the engine is running well and is great to be back behind the wheel its just very strange hearing a dump valve on a omega ;D
Unfortunately my alternator has packed in so I havnt got many videos yet but Il upload some over the next mth thanks I couldn't of done it without the help of the great members on here thankyou very much this is a great site :y

Hi there. Yes thanks I'm still finishing the new downpipe and waste gate then I can fit all my heat shield material to protect my coolant bottle and electrics :)
I've just got to upgrade my fuel pump and spark plugs and fit my.my air/fuel ratio gauge then it will be complete
And ready for the road again :)

Hi all I just thought id update my post the conversion has gone brilliantly and I hope to test run the car tomorrow on the ramp first to give the new turbo and parts a good running in. and to check for any leaks etc Il get some videos very soon if all goes well ive been thinking of taking the family to the billing Vauxhall show in July so I can say hello hopefully to some of the members who helped to make it possible thanks again :)

Thanks its been a lot of work and there is still more to be done bodywork wise and it needs a fresh set of shocks Il be going for the bilstein b4 on apex springs hopefully it will stiffen it up abit lol
Just a couple more parts needed and then I can finally give it a run. Thanks again for the nice comments :)

Saw this go past me at Billing on the Sunday, you was heading over the bridge where the chippy is... I was parked up on the side of the road chatting to a couple of mates... was nice to see it TBH :)

Hi yeah I saw you mate I was on my way home Il be going to the next billing show il hopefully have it completed and tidied up abit by then it would be nice to get us all together next time. It was my first show so didn't really know what to expect.
I was abit disappointed that there wasn't many more omega's to be honest but hopefully next time would be nice to see them all together its off the road now till after Xmas I'm doing some tuning work on it and some cosmetic bits hopefully next time you see it Il be running around 500bhp so should be exciting :)

Omegas are currently in the 'not old enough or LotusCarlton-y enough' category. Anything older, Carltons, Sennys, Monzas theres plenty of. (lots of Monzas this year! I swear they didn't make that many!) and not new enough either. There were more Omegas a few years ago, when they were still relatively modern cars, and therefore plentiful.
But give it a couple more years and there'll be those who are investing in bodywork now, putting their cars back to standard factory etc, and rightly proud and wanting to show theirs off. As you say, not many Omegas now, but their time will come. Carltons were on the doldrums a few years back when I started going. One rusty GSi, a couple of estates etc but they weren't show cars, they were just the old workhorses that were bringing club stuff/family/caravan and ten dogs etc.
Happy that at Saturday Billing mine was the oldest Omega there :)

Well, mine was also the tattiest Omega there, but 6 months earlier it was a SORN wreck that hadn't moved in 7 years, so work in progress and all that. I'm not quite up to 500bhp yet, I might cure the lumpy idle, and get my door card back on first ;)

I'll be there again next year, this years was my first also. I stupidly thought that everyone turned up on Friday, the show was Saturday and everyone went home Sunday.... Thats what I did anyway..
We'll be dragging our tintent along with us again, but hopefully will get the pitch I paid for instead of the 'just find somewhere' attitude we got when we arrived on the Friday evening...
My bonus for me was the autojumble where I found a part for my Alpine ICE system that had been apid up for around 2 years waiting for a part to be found... Alpine themselves wnated £50 just to look at it before even attempting to fix it... all it needed was a very small plastic cog... I ended up buying a complete but non working system for £20 which got me the part I needed :)

Not stupid at all, worry not, it's worth going whichever day you turn up, Sunday's best for the cars, of course, but Friday if you want to go over the jumble.
Billing's great for parts. It's worth going just for the Autojumble. Saved me close to three figures-worth of parts I bought that weekend :)

Be looking forward to camping again with the family at billing next year there is so much to do there
It was a fantastic weekend we really enjoyed looking at all the amazing cars and the kids had a great time at the fair also :)

was thinking of transplanting a saab turbo or volvo t5 to my trackcar in the future but this is a very good alternative. 8)
cant think of a reason why i never thought of this engine :-[
this engine is very heavy but stock power hold on a 2jz is easy 500hp without opening the engine. only a bigger turbo and external stuff required..power to weight is amazing :)

The only real drawback is everything is pretty pricey for
It and gearbox options are really limited
Once I've got the new exhaust system made up and
A new suspension then il be thinking of doing the bmw m3
Gearbox conversion
I'm not sure how heavy the v6 lump was before but the 2jz seems quite a it heavier
And I've been trying to find a descent coilover kit for
It because with the extra weight and power it really does wobble and squirm
Around abit or it might just be my original shockers lol ;D

i know the prices of toyota parts indeed, everything is ridiculously expensive. on the other hand, quality is very good and almost impossible to destroy
see my topic for coilover ;).. vw golf 2 is usable with some modification.. with my set i can set it to almost stock heigt and minus 5 inch.
with a decent set you can choose the length of the springs and the spring rate. only thing is that corner weighting is necessary to calculate the rate. over here not a lot of tuners can do that.
second option is a guy i know that makes custom kits for a decent price.. for a calibra front coilover set he asks around 350 euro, and they look and work much nicer than the kw sets.

Yeah the Toyota quality is very good and the good thing with them is they are very desirable so if you spend on the right parts they will remain very valuable That's great thanks a lot il have a look at your page mate :)
