Alpine Ezi-DAB
« on: 18 July 2016, 17:55:04 »

Got one of these fellas - http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/dab3842/ezi-dab

- for installation into one of the Omegas (unless MrsGK steals it for one of hers). However, I got it as a free gift after buying a load of parts, I didn't specifically buy it myself (owt for nowt!) so I'm a little lost.

Having done some Googling (and having put my spare one on Ebay), it looks like its a Citroen specific model. However, I can't see any different options if I was to purchase one from Amazon et al. Does this mean I need a Citroen-specific wiring connector, or will it only respond to shrugging? Any light throwing would be much appreciated, before I start dismantling dashboards and electrocuting myself...

Looks like a stand alone add on to me so wont necessarily be Citroen-specific.

Your need a DAB Aerial, plus if your feeding it into a Omega VX HU thees no Line In so your need to feed it through via FM Transmitter, so you wont really get the full quality DAB has to offer.

Apparently the aerial is included in the box, which I have only sparingly unpacked (since there's no cogs in it, I don't fully trust it). I'm thinking it will go nicely in the explod which already has an aftermarket HU, but appreciate the guidance dude, thank you! :y :D

(Any wiring will wait until I've un-numptied MrsGK's project Polo. Scotchloks galore, many of which have become Scorchlocks...)

Its certainly not vehicle specific -

But if you do decide to fit it, its actually a fairly good bit of kit   :y
