Hello.
During the attempt of resetting the panel some time ago i managed to change the display from showing degrees in celsius to Fahrenheit.
I don't remember witch two buttons i used. I've sold the car and this bugs the new owner and he can't seem to change it back with "My Naff Code Reader" either.
Any suggestions?

Omega General Help / Poor air flow to the windshield
« on: 28 November 2020, 18:26:11 »
Every Omega i have owned had this problem with poor air flow onto the windshield.
With the fan on full blast there is just a tiny breeze coming out on the top.

Currently minus 8 degrees here now and i had to let the car idle for 30 minutes before half the window is cleared.
Is there anything easy to check for here?

On my way home from work the temperature stared to rise.

Came home and ripped open the hood and there was little or no coolant left.
The engine and front subframe was completely dry.

Filled it up with coolant again and took it for a spin. Temperature lies steady and 80-85 degrees again.
Check all the fuses for the cooling fan. All okey. Both fans run when i turn on the AC.
The fan was not running when i came home from work and the car was overheated.
Strange.
The radiator, both temp sensors on it and the water pump was replaced 1,5 years ago.
Any suggestions?

Omega General Help / Z22XE hesitates at full throttle
« on: 07 July 2019, 20:03:10 »
I have ignored this for a long time but its soon 3 weeks of vacation and time to give some love to the car.
Some days the car hesitates at full throttle and the next day it's all fine. Very annoying because i'm towing a trailer a lot during the summer and need all the power it should have.

No fault codes. I have limited access to live data. I suspect that the o2 sensors are becoming slow to regulate. There is also no difference when i unplug the maf. No engine light and it still runs smooth at idle.

The coil and spark plugs where new last autumn and the valve cover gasket this spring. No oil on the plugs when i checked today. Cleaned the throttle body a couple of months ago too.  Fuel filter and fuel pump was replaced just before i bought it.

Omega General Help / Xenon level sensor. Expensive
« on: 09 April 2019, 21:00:16 »
This winter the lamp leveling light came on. Looked at it today. The rod going into the sensor itself are lose.
Price her in Norway: 352 pounds...  :o
That's 1/4 of what i paid for the car.
Part number: 93197514.
Where do you guys buy these parts? Found one on ebay for 220 euro but that will almost be as expensive when i have to pay shipping and vat.

Hello!
My first post here. I'm from Norway so I apologi for any poor writing.
-------------------

First problem:
The engine does not seem to get hot enough. It rests around 80 degrees according to the dash.
It's lacking that little extra. Thermostat replaced twice.
When it's around minus 5 degrees here and icy windows, 20 minutes of idling with the heat on "HI" don't clear the windscreen properly.
Several years since i had an Omega last time but i remember that i should sweat inside the car with the heat on "HI" no matter the outside temperature.

How is the flow of water to the heater core controlled on these cars?

Is also red that the circulation pump on these cars ment for Scandinavian countries are wired to work all the time when the car is running? No power in the connector there when the car was running.

The cambelt is do in 2000 km so i don't know anything about the condition on the water pump. Will replace it all and the beginning of the next year.
----------------

The Ac fan was running all the time when i bought it no matter the settings on the panel or the outside temperature. The eco button did not work either. I removed the relay to the fan and then the eco button works. Is this caused by a faulty thermal switch? I have bought a new one anyway. Not the biggest problem but it's nice with some ac again in about 7 months i guess.
