Hello.
During the attempt of resetting the panel some time ago i managed to change the display from showing degrees in celsius to Fahrenheit.
I don't remember witch two buttons i used. I've sold the car and this bugs the new owner and he can't seem to change it back with "My Naff Code Reader" either.
Any suggestions?

Omega General Help / Re: Poor air flow to the windshield

There is no problem with the heat. The car has normal operating temperature.
The heater matirx and thermostat are replaced 2 years ago.

How do you reset it?

Omega General Help / Poor air flow to the windshield
« on: 28 November 2020, 18:26:11 »
Every Omega i have owned had this problem with poor air flow onto the windshield.
With the fan on full blast there is just a tiny breeze coming out on the top.

Currently minus 8 degrees here now and i had to let the car idle for 30 minutes before half the window is cleared.
Is there anything easy to check for here?

I will take of the scuttle panel this weekend to get it right.
At least the car is driveable and i don't need the heating now in June.

Thank you for all the reply's to this thread.

None of my friends had a lift available this weekend so i decided to do it on the ground.
It went okay despite being soaked in coolant. Now i got a new problem. I managed to pull the vacuum hose free from where it enters the cabin.
It's so short that the hoses needs to be aligned perfectly on the valve for the vacuum hose to be long enough.

Started up the car and set the heat to HI and yep there is was dripping quite a lot from around the gearbox.

I have a brand new one lying around because i ment to replace it as a preventive matter but it's so tight around it that it needs to be replaced from the bottom.  So i won't be doing this without a lift.

Omega General Help / Re: 2.2 dti water pump seized
« on: 10 June 2020, 22:28:22 »
A seized water pump is nothing to repair.
Change it.
It's fairly easy.

Loosen the screws on the water pump pulley before you take of the belt.
Take of the pulley and you have access to the screws that holds the pump.
Clean the part where the o-ring on the pump meets the engine block before putting in a new one.

On my way home from work the temperature stared to rise.

Came home and ripped open the hood and there was little or no coolant left.
The engine and front subframe was completely dry.

Filled it up with coolant again and took it for a spin. Temperature lies steady and 80-85 degrees again.
Check all the fuses for the cooling fan. All okey. Both fans run when i turn on the AC.
The fan was not running when i came home from work and the car was overheated.
Strange.
The radiator, both temp sensors on it and the water pump was replaced 1,5 years ago.
Any suggestions?

The is a square welding mark on the center of the cat. Not professionally looking to say the least. There is only one cat on this as i can see?
No rattle noises at all.

The "new" sensors which i replaced last autumn was Denso and Bosch. Could only get one with the right connector so had to buy a universal one from Bosch. The wires are joined with proper cable lugs. The kind you melt at each end.

I have found out that the content of the cat probably has been removed. Saw some welding marks on it that does not look original.
That explains why i get the fault codes.

The car has slowly started to become more sluggish again. Hesitates and sometimes even jerks a couple of times when i tow a trailer.

Replaced both of the o2 sensors today and gained at least 15 more horsepower. Seems like the car is good to go right now. See how long it lasts

New heater matrix in place but now i'm struggling to get one of the quick connectors to lock. Useless plastic system.
The hose won't lock with the plastic clip in the outer or inner position.

Yes all the belonging parts to the cam belt was replaced of course. Tensioner, pulleys, water pump.
