Dont know if this is relavent on an Omega, but have you changed your HT leads recently?I got a new coil pack and leads fitted about a week before it started playing up
On the Senator, if a cheaper set of HT leads were fitted, they upset the gearbox ECU and caused it to go into limp mode.
High quality leads sorted it out
Just re read your original post. Flickering lights tend to be caused by loose connections or broken wires.The flickering hasn't came back on, if you go through the gear manually it work fine, but if you stop in drive and go to drive off again it pulls away in 3rd, so every time I stop I return it to 1st gear and go back through the gears again, there is a slight judder when I change it from 1st to 2nd but drives fine
Paying someone to read the codes may not be the best use of your hard earned if the root cause is a loose connection
If you are able to read your own codes then that would be a different matter though.
I’ll get them read tomorrowIt’s only the light for whatever gear you’ve selected- that tells me that the selector switch is OK
Next step is to read the gearbox error codes
