General healthcheck 02 2.2dti?
« on: 10 August 2011, 13:38:03 »

I'm generally happy with 2.2dti - it's economical, and runs relatively smoothly.  Thing is its ageing, and its on about 112k.  I recently had the front wishbones replaced (lemforder) and a track rod end, now the rear suspension is creaking a bit so looks like i need a set of rear buses (chrisgixer has kindly offered to help). I will also need a new set of brake discs and pads very soon and now I've noticed a couple of wet patched under the car - so its leaking now from somewhere..

I like the car, but it starting to become a money pit, anyone recommend where I can get a general car health check done i.e. suspension and main areas before I start throwing money away?

grateful for views from this fine forum.

If Chris is going to help with the rear bushes, I'm sure he'll give the car a good once over anyway.

Chris knows his stuff, and I'd rather take his word than somewhere that offers a health check in an attempt to make money out of it!  :y
