Morrison's In-Store cafeteria, fish, chips and peas (mushy or plain) for £4.55 - but not served after 4 PM.
Sometimes they have a drink included, and on rare occasions a half-price promotion!

I made my original post as a thank you to James for his excellent work and I'm gratified to see so many OOFers in agreement.
When my bank balance recovers (that's NOT because James robbed me but due to pension limitations!) I will need attention to my autobox, which continues to leak ATF and sundry minor issues like the power sounder and spark plug replacement.
Oh, and an impossible to remove CCR2006(?).

Poundland and 99p shops will supply 13A to yank 2-pin adaptors for £1 and 99p respectively.

Thank you for that link - such lovely, evocative photos of a different age.
I went to this event:-

I fear it can never be repeated, but well worth the journey to darkest Northern territory!

Nice to hear you confirm my good experience, Ron. I forgot to mention in my original posting that the day was intermittently piddling down, yet James worked through it unfazed except for an enforced break during a deluge and as a result was still working at 9 PM - what a Trojan!
Even at that late hour he offered to do an overdue oil change for me, which I greatly appreciated - especially as he had some Trade Club oil with him, saving me precious pennies.

I asked James to do this work as a result of postings on here, and as I knew nothing about James, was naturally a little apprehensive, understandably.
If ANYONE is in the same frame of mind, may I just say do not hold back; I recommend James and his excellent work unreservedly.

James has just done my cambelt, etc. You won't find better; just hope he is prepared to come to you.

I don't know if this is the right area to post this, but James came to me to replace my cambelt, thermostat and sundry other things and did a brilliant job!
Nothing was too much trouble and he worked with painstaking care in a completely professional manner, so if you ever want yours done, you know what to do.....

I had a G Reg. Carlton Estate a few years back - Midnight Blue metallic - which I loved but it had difficulty retaining its bodily fluids and various other problems, culminating in a blown head gasket, whereupon it was time for it to go to that great motorway in the sky!

I have had good experiences of K-Seal (www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/car-additives/cooling-system-treatment/?542770100&0&cc5_171), which DOES work and can be left in the coolant system permanently without harm, just waiting to deal with the next leak!

I am totally with you there, Chris (and my sympathy with your personal issues), and I have an additional moan about the advertising by charities - "Please give £2/£3 etc., per month". How DARE they decide for me how much I am to donate, it is my decision, not theirs, how much, if anything, I choose to give.
