Well done Jenson!!
« on: 07 August 2006, 11:43:45 »

Well, I parked myself on the sofa at 12.30pm yesterday and switched on the Hungarian Grand Prix expecting another 2 hours of boredom, but hey.....it was a cracker!! :)

Got to say well done Jenson - he drove an exceptional race considering the conditions and despite the fact that Schumi, Alonso and Raikkonen didn't finish, I still think he would  have done it even if they had remained in the race. While everyone else around him were spinning off or crashing he didn't put a foot wrong. Great to see a Brit back on top of the podium and may we see it more often.

To inject a bit more excitement into F1, maybe they should spray the track with water at every race ;)

came at a good time too with the 3 week gap...

Was cracker of a race, best on i have seen in years!!!

Alonso going round Shumy on the outside in the wet, pure class!!!

So many over taking, brilliant stuff.

You know what they do to make Skid Pans wet have the sprayers that pop up from the ground to make the tarmac wet? - They need those installed on every circuit!!  ;D

I was far too drunk to see the race :(

I see the pub nearest to Honda/BAR has got up a bloomin' great banner congratulating JB. They must have got that made up quickly...

Fair play to JB though - I'd written him off as another Tim Henman (nice bloke with no true desire to win).  Though with the top 3 drivers out, it was his best ever chance of winning...

Yup. Tim had his chance a few years back when most of the champs were out, but he fluffed it.

Was a good drive by him, head down and got on.

Also i think he never lost it and spun? At least i was not seen on camera, Shumy lost it once, but Jenson just got on with it.. his car just needs a little more pace in the dry

He's got Clarkson to thank for that win!  Last epsiode of TG, JC asked him how come he'd never won after a hundred or so races.

What more incentive do you need than that ;D

Can't see that happening with the current car - it simply isn't quick enough...

Yup. What he's proved this weekend is he can keep his head under presure and get on.

As a driver can't fault him, smooth and rarely makes mistakes. He just needs more power under that right foot of his

Quite agree with you there Allen, Jenson had said he was getting fed up with people asking him when he was going to win his first GP and Clarkson was probably the last straw!! ;D
