Thanks KillerWatt, but how do you pass the L-shaped connector, once connected to the pad away from the calliper through the apertur?.  I tried that one and I could not position the calliper over the pads in place with the sensor there. :-/ :-/
I push the plug through the aperture, pull the cable gently as I go so it doesn't fold on itself, and eventually get to the stage where the caliper just slides over the pads.
At that point, I tighten the (sliding) caliper bolts to what I know is right and won't kill me or anybody else (f*ck the torque wrench, when you've done your own brakes for 20+ years then you know what's right).
;D ;D ;D

Hi
Not a fault as such but how accurate is the outside temp sensor .... just been out for a run and it was ranging between 8.5 and 10.0 degrees .... i didnt think it was that cold  :-? , i had to replace it last year when it showed "F" so its not that old ... was a genuine sensor from Vx .
Thanks
if its not your sensor ? it must be the weather man is wrong ;D ;D sorry mine is quite accurate just checked mine and its 18.5 out side  :y

I have a 2001 3.2 Elite Estate 83,000 miles which is really starting to cost money to keep on the road and I'm not sure whether to spend the money or scrap her.  I've spent over £2,000 over the last two years oil cooler, discs, wheel bearing, general servicing.
Now she needs:-
1. exhaust (mid boxes and rear silencer). Garage quoted £600.
2. front suspension bushes - vaux main dealer quoted me £650 to do these last year.  They seemed okay so didn't do them, but now getting a lot of juddering under braking. Replaced front discs one year ago so don't think its the discs.  I suppose at an independent might get them done for about £450.
3. two rear tyres needed £250 ish
Total £1,300 - 1,500.
Now thats probably more than the car is worth in good condition.  Now I don't want to get rid of her as I love the car.  I've had Omegas for 10 years and had this one since 2004.
So what do I do?  Sell on Ebay (honestly described of course!) for a few hundred quid and get a one year olf Zaf or spend the money on it? Any advice gladly appreciated as usual.
to good a car to scrap those jobs are not that bad diy mate
