The driver / owner has disconnected the speed limiter and probably switched off  / put a bar magnet on the tachograph. ;)

The legal limit is 50 mph on single carriageways and 60 on dual carriageways.

The other possibility is that it was a police driven unit that is being used in many parts to watch out for lorry drivers breaking the law.  Usually though they have a marked patrol car somewhere about. Judging from what you say, this is however unlikely. :)

not sure any of that works any more what with smart cards etc nowadays but hey ....but I wish the £$%$^&*( would do that on the M26 and get the hell out of my way some days lol.....EMD you never seen truck racing at brands they go like a bat out of hell :o

Yeah but not with a trailer slung behind  ;D :y

Ive retro fitted one in mine not so long ago , not a bad job really but i had the extra job of cutting the hole out for the blind . Im still looking for a f/l blind switch and there does not seem to be a spare one in existence on the planet  :(

Try this guy EMD, Nigel / Omega52, the dealer who I refer to in this thread who seems to vbe breaking quite a lot on miggies:

Have the laws changed as to how fast an HGV can go  ??? Was on the A5 and hitting a dual carriageway then put my foot down to overtake a hgv with curtain side trailer , i was at 75mph and the lorry was still pulling away  ::)

A specialist of National Windscreens only explained the other day how difficult it is to replace a windscreen on an Omega.

Thank God I was just having a couple of small chips dealt with :y

It took them 4 separate visits to fix mine properly seeing as the trim flew off down the dual carridgeway and was ran over by a lorry  ;D ;D

Started it for the 1st time in 6 weeks and it started first time as always!  :y

Took it for a run and went to the local jet wash to spruce the old girl up, unfortunately my Italian tune up blew one of the middle silencers, and I now have a noisy Omega!  :(

They make a very loud bang sometimes  :D No horse hair  :-\

He is bonkers .. reckon they should have replaced Edd China with him on Wheeler Dealers instead of Ant Anstead.

I quite like his "8x8 shed" build .. sitting on top of the underground bunker he stuck in his back garden ;D

I watched all that shed and bunker build . Quite an amazing task and all free  ::)

Capri gearbox removal trapped my fingers while underneath the car , then the jack slipped  .. managed to free myself and lucky i put a wheel under the car just in case .. have used axle stands ever since instead of engineering bricks  :D
Back wheel came of my Cortina and overtook me down the hill  :o :D

« on: 29 March 2017, 18:30:57 »
Does anybody on here drive a bus in Poole. Went round a roundabout in Poole and a bus was waiting to enter, and the driver gave us the big thumbs up and smile. Not being local, I can only think of the Omega connection. :)
Have to wait and see if the thread title attracts attention :y

Maybe he felt sorry for you in a vehicle that was not as quick as his bus??

 :o ;D ;D
