It sounds a lot like mine although it has never cut out on the move so I am lucky.

I am just going out to change mine now. (after a quick coffee) As I work at an accident repair centre our parts dept and perrys vauxhall let me order both types of sensor to be delivered yesterday. So I could take them both home, fit the correct one over the weekend. Then return the other one and pay for the one I use on monday. Thanks guys!!!  :y

Right kettle on wish me luck.

Hi guys I ended up taking this to a garage as I couldn't get my hands on
flat ground, axle stands, or my torx set, or indeed the sensor and my back is badgered again :(

Should I account for MAX 1 hour for labour to change the crank sensor please? I saw a guide here saying a lay-person can do it in 30mins, so with ramps and a fully qualified chappie would be surprised if it went beyond an hour!

Please if I am wrong someone smack me and correct me :)

Route the cable by the ABS controller, not behind the exhaust
