DONT use "My Naff Code Reader" to calibrate, your lights will never point in the right direction again.

it is the headlamp ecu its talking about.

does it allow you to excercise the motors?  do they both respond? (make the lights go up and down)

Right....lets go back a step...

Your lights both come on.
They both go up and down as they should
You have no error message on your MID in day to day use/

The only issue is "My Naff Code Reader" is complaining.....IGNORE it, its flaky chinese copy of software, it doesnt work properly on cloned hardware.
Put it out your mind and just use it for code reading and resetting, NEVER programming  :y

You may find if you tell "My Naff Code Reader" your car is a year older / newer than it is, the ecu will be quite happy  :y

i too have a late 52 plate....."My Naff Code Reader" barely talks to anything, until I tell it it is a 2001 model.  Id try a couple of years and see if you get different results.

Have you checked the arms on the front wishbones and trailing arms are properly attached, thats the normal cause of this (given your lights do actually move, youve proved the ecu is communicating with them and the motors both work - which only leaves the sensors  / wiring)
