Omega General Help / Re: Handbrake spring

Yes he said it would take a while. Not replacing shoes and fitting kit though, that would be another £25 pound. Guess he is charging me for the labour as it does sound fiddly   :-\

Hi does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to replace handbrake spring on back offside passenger side wheel.  It is making a racket when wheel rotates.  :(

Omega General Help / Header expansion tank leaking anitfreeze
« on: 19 May 2014, 21:39:06 »
Hi have had a new expansion tank fitted about 3 weeks ago and today the antifreeze was disappearing. Topped it up with water but disappearing again. Could not see leak anywhere. Called AA they did pressure test and took off top hose heater control unit said that was possible cause. He said he put a bit of sealant in it, seemed okay. One drive later water disappearing again. Anyone got any ideas where the antifreeze/water is going?

Got home okay! This car is brilliant! No more warning lights, running well. Does 40 mile round trip commuting everyday. Took her for a run to Bournemouth at the weekend, 200 miles no problem!  :y will have to sell though as bit expensive to keep commuting with every day  :( any suggestions on how to sell her?

Thanks aaronjb how spooky that you work in Chertsey also! I am on leave next week will be in Slough! Would very much appreciate your imput re the codes, let me know when you are available.  AA man did remove light coming up, the only code he found was the crankshaft sensor? He said to turn air con off if light comes on again!?  Running fine when we went round the block, have to see if I can get home to Slough okay!

Now, now, don't fight about it!   ;D  Had a new cambelt and all belts a few months ago, had an oil change about a couple of months ago, local place, don't think they cleaned the breathers though. Just had the AA out they put on diagnostic and said it was crankshaft error message, he turned light off, went round the block and all seems okay again. It was running a bit ropey before that, and last couple of days seemed to not have much wellie when acclerating,  he said maybe air con pump??
