My view is this will only last so long until they tax the crap outa it. It's like everything else that catches on, remember how cheap diesel was until millions started to use more of it

I've just come back from a holiday in Canada where "gas" is 99cents a litre. At $1.80 to the £ this makes it around 50p per litre - no wonder most of the cars are 3.5 litre or more.  Mind you house prices, food prices and cars are all half of what they cost here.   Salaries seem the same though!!!

What happens when oil hits $150 a barrel? Probably be more like 1 quid 50 a litre.

Yes nice and cheap in Canada, nice cold place When I first started traveling to Eastern Europe and further eastward to the really chilly places 15 years ago diesel was around 10p and less a litre - now winter diesel is around 22 rubles a litre in Moscow (that's about 42p) a very high price!

Russian gas guzzlers have to be seen to be believed. In Moscow it would be easier to cross the road by walking across the bonnets of the stationary armour plated Hummers and Japanese "tanks" than by using the lethal crossings.    :-X
