Title: wanted 2.2 dti omega
Post by: tommycon on 26 April 2009, 19:35:03
hiya,  i`m looking for a 2.2 dti omega.
at least an CDX, it must have a sunroof ( fully working one) i`d like it to have leather interior, looking to pay around £1750 maybe alittle hiya if in outstanding condition, i had a 3L elite which because of the very poor fuel consumption i sold, it was my 1st omega and gota say how much i enjoyed the comfort and drive,, i bought a 2.2 dti vectra CDX ( full leather and the works) although this is a fantastic car i do miss the size of the omega.
so if anyone is thinking of selling one please drop me a line.
 many thanks .
 Paul

I don't know what the current prices are for a DTi, but a few months ago i had mine valued by the Glass Guide at just over £3,000. Though i suspect prices have fallen. Just be aware that you may need to go higher for a DTi, especially a tip top one. You may find a bargain though :y

if you can get one in good condition for £1750 then you would have a bargain - I wouldn't want to part with my CDX with full memory leather for less that £2500 and I'd rather run it till it drops before I'd take less - what can you get for the money that seats 5, cruises at 80 and returns over 40 to the gallon.

You'd be giving it away at that ;)

Have a look on the old ebay and you may get a deal but for the money you want to spend and the spec you want your going to be looking at a car which has done well over the 100,000 mile but if its got up to date service history then it will never miss a beat. My last one had 237,000 on when i sold it and is still going strong and my current one is just coming up to 180,000 so don't worry about high miles ;)

Mines just turned 86,000 & at the miles i do a year, it'll take me around five years to reach 100,000 :y

i`ve tested a couple under £1500 and they both were great runners they didnt have sunroofs and that is a big must for me,, like a mentioned i have the 2.2dti vectra and i`m really impressed with the engine,, pulls strong and very very good mpg,,
would anybody know if the older 2.5s are as good on fuel? there are alot more fully loaded ones for sell.
 cheers .

if that DTi engine suffers from injector pumps then id get a BMW 2.5TD they have much more cheaper problems!!!

i know the 2.0DTi eats injector pumps dont know about the 2.2 :o

mine's done 90000m and not had any problems with the injector pump - the seals can be problematic (mine were replaced at 24000m).  Only thing to watch is crankshaft pulley at £180 from the stealers and they go at 90-100,000 - vectra will be the same.   The 2.2dti is a lot more frugal than the 2.5 according to all the roadtests I read when I was looking for one 6 years ago.

when chipped the 2.5 returns far better mpg than a standard vxhall set up!! :y
