Can bottom hose be removed without removing bagpipes V6
« on: 29 November 2019, 17:27:39 »

As in the title. Is there a easy way to remove the bottom hose, from a 2.6 Omega without removing all the bagpipes?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Probably is dependant on hose pipe fittings that are on there really.
You should be able to get onto the bottom of the pipe /radiator made easier with the engine undertray removed..that's just 4 machine bolts.
If jubilee type probably easier to undo than GM spring type again depends on where on the rotation the tangs are.
Harder will be the top fitting as not too much space for hands and tools and you run the risk of damaging radiator fins..but again with a jubilee fitting I would say yes tbh but by the time you have messed about the extra 10 minutes taking out the "bagpipes" makes the job much easier.

Thanks for all the replies. Thought removal of bagpipes, would be needed. Was just wandering if there was a simpler way.

Hi polilara It is the rubber hose, that comes from the engine, to the bottom of the radiator.

removing the airbox and trunking to the MAF is probably just as helpful, and a little easier to do. The difference is small, and might save a couple of minutes over removing the bagpipes.I agree with Amba, not having to deal with spring type hose clamps makes the job much easier which is one of the reasons why I never refit the bloody things.

Changed hose, thanks for all the replies. Just took bagpipes out. Luckily I have not long put a new radiator in, so the drain tap works. LOL

It is freezing outside here flashing 1 on display for temperature, so the burping of it was great, getting some warmth.
