Chester & Liverpool ...
« on: 30 August 2014, 21:46:27 »

Heading to Chester in a couple of weeks for swmbos birthday. Spending a Sunday night there and then heading to Liverpool the following day. Staying in the titanic hotel,by the docks, looks pretty good.
Any advice on places of interest and of any good pubs/restaurants in either places would be grand chaps  :y

Liverpool has numerous good museums or you can jump on the Beatles tour bus which goes down a storm with the tourists. In terms of resturants name your taste's and I can suggest some for you :y

Was in Liverpool last Bank Holiday staying with friends. All though not in the heart of Liverpool they took me and the misses to the Refreshment Rooms in New Ferry for a meal and music. Brilliant absolutely brilliant. Look it up on Trip Advisor its well worth the visit.  :y :y

And don't forget a river cruise, it's the only way to appreciate the waterfront which is a world heritage site.

Chester is a great city loads of history. If the weather is nice make your way down to the Grange by the river just up from the weir and the bridge great place to have a pick nick,The city is amazing due to it's roman history. as for Liverpool absolutely loads to see and do. Wonderful architecture, history and heritage get yourself around the Albert dock area shops, museums, history and lots lots more. Head into the city and you have all the Mersey sound history all well signposted  great places to eat and stay. Hope you have a great time. It will be well worth it  :y

P.S if you have time don't   forget to take the iconic "ferry across the Mersey" well worth the trip if only if only for the sail great views of the Liverpool water front especially if you can catch a river criuse and "over the water to the Wirral. plenty of thing to see over there.
