The chargers can be configured to limit current to whatever the circuit can sustain, so it's possible that the sparky took the lazy option and didn't run a 32A dedicated radial for it.

.. or that Tesla's claims on range are a steaming pile of... ::)

It'll be this option, Kevin. ::)

it won't

Yup, in extremis, truely ridiculous ranges are possible. 200+ day in day out is very feasable. The interiors are pretty indefensible on a car of their price though.  :(

What is coming at the end of 2018 which interests me greatly is the Leaf E-Plus. This is likely to have a 60kwh battery meaning a real world range of about 190-210miles in normal driving. Also with semi-autonomous driving capabilities, the volvos days may be numbered.

Now now, we can't all travel around shedding rubber at 15mpg in out leather lined codpieces ;).

Besides, I rather like the look of the new one. The previous ones were strictly for the beige trouser brigade ;).

You bounced onto the forum full of enthusiasm about your new BMW 140i, complete with a 3 litre straight six turbocharged lump. :y

The BMW became an elderly swede running on narrow boat fuel.....and now you are dreaming of a Datsun Leaf milk float. ;) ;)

I have a theory that you age a decade every time you post. ::) ::) :P

Follow Albs and Al's example and look for a nice expensive to run and repair V8. Actually, I think Al hankers after a V10 M5.

There are not many of us dinosaurs left. :D ;)

I did indeed, and look how well that turned out   :D.

I have noting but desire for a thumping big v8, in fact something along the lines of a w12 phaeton would suit my needs perfectly. It's just the small matter of the £220/week in fuel that's the issue. By contrast, free electrons from work, make the milk float a whole lot more appealing.

I do like the Phaeton and provided it doesn't go 'tits up' in a big and expensive way it holds a certain appeal. They really are HUGE though and dwarf an Omega.

Remember to figure in the cost of a new battery pack after 5 years. After 3 years it will barely make it to the corner shop for a pint of milk. ;)

Speaking of BMW my car share buddy is considering upgrading to a BMW M2, I really, really like his m235i, makes a lovely sound, seriously fast and surprisingly good on fuel.

Wish I could buy his 235i off him, but can't make the numbers work  :'(

The 2 series BMW seem to get good reviews and as you rightly say the M2 is pretty quick.
