All that was said about WIM was true
« on: 02 December 2007, 08:52:07 »

Took my car down to Wheels In Motion to get the wheel alignment checked. Hugely, hugely impressed, from the moment I arrived. Not many places would let you get under the car at all - never mind get their customer involved in adjusting the toe angles... :y

Tony talked me through every aspect of the setup, the effect it has, and how it's adjusted - most only needed a little tweak, but he ended up taking over 1 degree of camber off each front wheel.  :o With the car up in the air, Tony showed me the effect it was having, scrubbing the inside edges of the front tyres.

I'd always been impressed with how the Omega handled for a 1600kg anyway - but with it set up, it's like driving a whole new car. Highspeed stability, and braking, are both far far better - and it goes exactly where you want, instantly upon turning the wheel; previously, it took a moment, which I'd put purely down to the sheer weight of the car...

 Well worth a 500 mile round trip. :y :D

I agree entirely with those sentiments.  My front tyre wear increased from under 6 months to nearly 2yrs, so well worth the savings in tyres (still use the same type of Dunlops). And the handling is 'sharper', and more precise.

Idea for a poll:

Q: What is the single best thing you've done for your Omega?

1. TheBoy's v9 autobox upgrade

2. Tony's/WIM tunning

Other possible answers...?

Yes, but I need more answers first...  ;D

How many chipped cars do we have on here? A couple of M-Tek ones if memory serves...?

I thought about adding V-Power / BP Ultimate to the list, but that seems to have little impact TBH...

I can always add 'using Mobile-1', but since I just made 4k posts I'd like to keep them for a while if it is all the same with you  ;D

That sounds great. I emailed them this week for a quote. £85+vat. The inside of my tyres are a disgrace...do I need new tyres before the adjustments or does it matter?
