I have been told[although I've never measured]that the latest version can't hold as much as the previous shape due to the sloppier rear roofline and tailgate.If so I think it a case of form over function much like a lot of new cars.Expect it to have the usual recalls and updates[which should be free]again this is not specific to the Mondeo,new cars in general seem to go through this.I think they are a really nice looking car and I'm sure it'll serve you well.

Been in a fair few Mondeos albeit for a couple of minutes at a time but they do seem nice cars that have improved greatly over the various series.Is it the very latest shape or the previous one?

Must say Maureen never commented on my driving one way or the other.The worst passenger I ever had for doing that was my mother.You could see her lean a little towards centre of car and quickly glance at the speedometer and then the comment "Going a bit fast aren't we?"would soon follow!

Must admit once I'd found the leak I "repaired"mine.Keyed up the top of the tank with some wet and dry,cut a small piece of plastic from a "loyalty"card that Maureen used to have keyed that in same way and stuck the two together with two pack epoxy.

Would have suggested a people carrier type thing-Grand C-Max has sliding rear doors which might help getting MiL in/out-but I doubt whether they would have the boot space[even with the rear most seats folded]to house wheelchair,groceries,dog and coolbox all atsame time.

On mine there was a hairline crack right on top of the radiator plastic side tank.When under pressure it fired a fine spray straight at the underside of the plastic thing that runs across the top of the radiator.Took me ages to spot that!

I have the same cover as Stemo through my bank account,although in total I've been with the AA since 1984.Not needed them that much-about 3 or 4 times from memory-but they've always been prompt.I wouldn't bother them with the home start bit as if it's home I can leave it until I fix it.
