ABS Club Meet - North London & Herts

Don't know whether I'm allowed to post about this.

I'm an ABS member who is also on here as well who co organises this meet. We used to have the club meet at the South Mimms services on the A1M/M25 Junction, but we have moved it up to Welwyn Garden City because of cost.

I've spoken to the ABS about inviting OOF members to the clubs & was informed about other meets e.g. Midlands at Donnington.

So basically We have a club meet every third Sunday of every month at Welwyn and I'd like to invite OOF member to come along if you're interested.

If I haven't offended anyone or broken any OOF forum rules and anyone is interested, I'll post up further details.

Don't see it as a problem, TBH.  A number of folks on here are ABS members as well (myself included)...  :y

Good place to join .... gets you a trade club membership which can save you shed loads .. :)

I thought it was for straight six owners.  As I am not of that elevated ownership is it still open to me.

If like any of my mates, I can just see everyone rolling about on the floor as I roll up ;D :D

ABS is open to anyone with 'an interest' in club cars, so you are welcome to join but just not show your car at events along side other club cars.

Thats ok.  Only problem is getting to meets.  How close is venue to the WGC BR station :question

Question for me then is to either wait untill when I've changed vehicle or just use BR to attend when I can. ::)

Not a problem to have combined meets - I certainly attend the local Oxford ABS meet (even though my ABS membership has long since expired ::)).

In the case of ABS, we have a lot in common, as ABS is still dominated by Carlton/Senator owners, and more and more of their members are starting to get Omegas, so combined meets work very well.


I would urge anyone in the Welyn area to consider going, meet people with similar interests, and put some faces to names :y. If its a combined meet, I doubt it matters if you are not an ABS member.


And ABS membership is open to anyone with an interest in eligible cars, surely every OOF member would fit that criteria ;)

Can I get a little more definition on the phrase "straight six owners" please ???

Does that make me a "bent six owner" or a "twisted six owner"............. ???
a "slightly offset inline six owner" a "divergent six owner" a "six wayward owner"
nope............................i'm confused and just a little paranoid now,
I need to lay down on the Dual Carriageway and contemplate.

Omega has either 4 cylinders in line (2 litre/2.2) or v6 as in 2.5/6 and 3.0/2.  Think the 2.5 TD diesel is a 6 cylinder?

The 'straight' 6 means 6 cylinders in a line, one after the other.  Nothing more than that....  ;)

Oh !! thank goodness for that, I got quite excited 'n wobbley for a moment, I thought................well never mind 21, just to say that we've all got our cylinders accounted for and in 'Ship Shape Order' its now safe to pick up your keys in the Car Park.........................what a Wonderful World.
