I think the offset might be different for a Vectra? I'm sure someone else will confirm.

I tend to run down till the fuel light comes on then stick £10 to £20 worth in, I only ever fill up if I am going on a long run and intend to use it.
You must be on first name terms then with the garage!  ;) You must have a spare sender unit on the shelf waiting to go in for when yours goes t*ts up too!

Probably go to the garage twice a month. Once had a fiat with a faulty fuel sender, was obviously filled to the same point all the time by a previous owner. Used to work till just below half full and then went to zero.

I don't agree with keeping half a tank at all times. I believe in using fresh fuel - it deterioirates. Especialy if you buy tesco crap like me :D

I would recommend filling up as soon as the red light pops on.

I've had over 25 miles with MID reading 0 miles.

if you run half full all the time you have to drag around all the extra weight for half a tank which probably equates to having a small passenger in the car all the time. ...if I take out all the stuff from my boot I'll be some 20kg lighter...  ;D

Not to mention a diet   :(

If you run nearly empty you can forget the diet ;D

I always thought it was 75l. My mid is a lot better on the predicted mileage since TB reprogrammed it but I've not got down low enough on fuel since to see how good the predicted mileage is. Might fill the can up and test my nerves someday.

Omega General Help / Re: Interior lights on facelift estates?

Lights by grab handles and those in the door pockets on a saloon are triggered by the door pin switch.  Could you fit these to your estate and wire in a remote switch to replace the pin switch - maybe?

Nearly suggested that myself :)

you could just use a torch :D or one of those cigarette lighter inspection lights ::)

Mines a prefacelift estate and has lights in the rear by the grab handles, but they only seem to come on when turned on at the switch next to the light or when the door is opened. I seem to remember on my senator when you turned the interior light on from the switch the rear lights came on as well, possibly the kerb lights as well.

I use one of the solar chargers but the ciggy lighter being off causes a problem. I wired mine into a power feed that was always on, last car I had I used the feed to the boot courtesy light. The one I have has in built diode protection so I can leave it plugged in with engine running, so just wired it in and left it on parcel shelf. Generally it provides enough power to counteract the power drain of the car alarm.

Its not really difficult at all just time consuming. It took me about 45mins to do mine but I had had a little practice by changing the plugs a few weeks earlier. The most fiddly bit is getting the new leads onto the DIS pack in the right order.
