Me and the missus watched with alarm as the stories mounted up. Broken alloys, flat tyres, suspension damage.......
Then it showed what they can do to cyclists, kill or seriously injure them. I wasn't so bothered about them after that. :)

Sorry Lizzie, we do not speak American here; I think you mean thousand million, not million million, which is what billion means to us.
And the figure now is nearer £60,000,000,000, for which we receive back a mere 10% of that in motoring benefits..... >:( >:( >:(

I have used the accepted international value of a billion which is 1000,000,000. The AA are quoting £40 billion and, as everyone in business now uses, they mean £40,000,000,000 ;)

I am English, so I accept the English value for billion. I've explained on here before why the Americal version is wrong, by definition, so I won't do so again; but if you need to know in detail why, I will PM you.
Alternatively, we could just use the scientific notation - no confusion there.

Oh, and the correct term for what the yanks call a billion is a Milliard. The yanks always inflate everything: maybe it's their inferiority complex?

Been off on leave for a couple of weeks, drove in last night for a shift cannot believe the amount of new potholes that have appeared, one on a section on the A16 was only repaired within the last few weeks.
