Dont be tempted to part with your omegas for pennies. Even though I dont have one nowadays, mine was one of the best cars I ever owned. I just wish they weren't so bloody maintenance hungry or I'd have another tomorrow.

I bought my 3.2 Elite at just over a year old and at 13k miles - other than regular servicing (much more often than the 20k interval) it has cost little to service - only once letting me down; last year when i needed a crank sensor.

I recall seeing these in about 2001 - never heard any more: until seeing this.

What's been happening in this development over that 8 years?

My only purchase from e-bay was the same. Pay-pal and E-bay said they would help - but did not more than that.  They were worse than useless as after offering to help they just delayed me starting to get real help.

I paid pay-pal through my credit card (Nationwide) after I returned the item to the supplier (credit card co insisted) I got a full refund.  Then I found that Virgin mobile did the same handset for the same money but with call credit.

I too like the VXR8 - our local dealer lent me one for  a weekend - very impressed.  I propose to have it as my only 'everyday' car.

I'm just waitng for the prices to drop further :-)

We have a Bissell (can't recall the model no.)  was about £85 off QVC (I think)  squirts water and sucks water and dirt - very good and small enough for Mrs M-J to use - but she doesn't!

As an aside I pressure wash my Omega's car mats (they are cream) and usually suck the excess water out with the above Bissell  (its a bit like this http://www.bisselldirect.co.uk/product/1048)

I had similar problems on my Senator 24V.  Very fiddly to clean and not lose the 'silvering'.

There must be some good deals now or soon from MFI - don't expect to buy extra in a few months though.

All dealers should honour the Trade Club card.

I've been a member of Autobahnstormes for about 13 years and have ordered stuff from Andy in Thetford and had it delivered (or via kindly networking).  He is very knowledgeable too.

Andy can be contacted via the Autobahnstormers forum, which can be acessed as a member.

I can't add much; except I had two random shutdowns yesterday - one after the other.

I think I'll try and de-dust (is there such a word) soon.  Also do a virus scan AVG by the way.

You seem to be implying that this may be building up to a dismissal. - unfairly possibly.  Note (and photograph) the situation and other events that may be relavent in case you need this information in the future.

Even though I think this has been said above: In one of my recent work sites the attitude was that there was no personal information - all was liable to inspection.  I was not convinced of that was legitimate, but it was never needed to be tested.

Good luck Steve
