What would be the best stuff to lubricate the rear blind. Mine works ok but is jerky. Dont know if there all like this. Would wd 40 be ok or silicone or a ptfe spray if you can get one.

I used a silocone spray that i found in halfords. Also use it to lubricate the window runners as some of them wouldnt shut properly.

Mine does the same. When i press the button the i rear the relays at the back clicking but nowt happens :(

i fixed mine :DDDD
as i was driving today i said to my friend "i must try fix the blind today" then i pressed the button and it came up ^.^   havent done anything to it, it just worked. With it up i sprayed the runners with silicone lubeication spray. Hopfully it'll be all good now :)
I had this too - asked garage to have a look, after I fiddled with it.  They asked what there was to fix!?  It just started working -then it rattled and stopped that after a while - easy huh!

Believe me Steve, when you have taken the shelf out and replaced it 3 or 4 times over the course of a weekend, you can do it in 10mins with your eyes shut :y ;D

Are there any link or guides to removing it or even accessing it?  I couldn't even see every well - peering through the back window or sqeezing my head over the rear shelf.   I never did remove it - it seems that a lot of trim, part of rear seats etc have to be removed - I felt it would become a misssion and I'd risk damaging something else.

If I have the switch on the dash, (96 3.0 Elite) will this definately mean I have the blind?

I get no clicks or anything when I press the button and looking on th rear shelf cant see exactly what is supposed to happen. There is a beige(ish) plastic cover, does this bit raise up or does the blind come from under it?

You should have the blind on the Elite, should be a solid plastic panel in front of the vent.
That is the top of the blind, get someone to push the button and try and gently help it up by hand as it may be seized due to lack of use.

Right so the big bit of plastic actually lifts out. Will give it a go when I can get missus to press the switch for me. Wasn't sure if the blind came out from under the cover or what and so far everything I have looked in the Haynes for has not een there. Cheers again ;)

.....
It is only when connected via the controller that the problem arises and causes the relays to click :-/

The PCB does look like it's seen better days.  :(
What looks wrong with those circuit boards?
