Scotland is fast becoming a clone of urban Canada.

To your last, yes if it has trees growing in it or has partially collapsed/rotted away ;D

If it does, its likely that Putin will then carry on into other countries, hoping to rebuild his beloved USSR.
He'll be dead long before that ever happens.

Leave them to it. Ukraine will eventually become two places.

There's an environmental argument against such low speeds as vehicles simply aren't designed to travel so slowly... Not to mention the fact that localised pollution is increased by virtue of traffic build up.

Lundun being a case in point as localised pollution increases in direct proportion to each drop in traffic speed/flow.

Yet, some motorways have displayed the Matrix boards to reduce the speed limit to 60mph to 'improve air quality' (supposedly)...the M1 near Sheffield being one  ???
That's just ended because......work this one out.....air quality has improved. Now, has it improved because of the speed reduction, in which case why increase it again? Or is it just magic?
Or was it because all the traffic took a different route because that one was too slow? >:D

Omega General Help / Re: Cambelt change..
« on: 14 March 2024, 22:03:29 »
Mine has done much less than yours !! What I don't understand, is, if there were premature breakages at an early stage, why did Vauxhall keep churning out Omega's with the same fault for year after year. Surely they must have upgraded something.
The fault wasn't with the parts it was with the servicing schedule and dealer greed.

Basically the belt is good for the original 80,000 mile schedule... As long as the pullies were replaced at the same time.

Problem is dealers were charging for the full kit but only fitting the belts. The obvious result being that the pullies failed soon after. Much like VW and their water pumps.

To avoid further issues GM simply halved the interval and insisted that the pullies were changed at the same time. It was more of an issue for the Vectra B due to the sheer number of fleet cars around but it.tarnished the engine somewhat.

With age, they almost become a service item.

While the key still works repair or replace both lock motors.

Under the section ' Why do some people let the hate monster in'.......they talk blatantly of 'white-male entitlement' being the problem. :-\

You can openly say that white people are the problem, apparently. :-X
That sounds, er, racist.

The NCDC/ CID in my Omega is now at the point where most of the functions dont work most of the time.
I decided I would refit the original NCDC / GID, so retrieved the box from the shelf in the man cave that I stored it away in about 6 years ago.
Opened the box to find the headunit in there but no screen.
I have no clue whatsoever as to why the screen isnt in there.  ??? :'( ::) :'(
You could always retro fit a GID and an aftermarket head unit...

For it's faults, Helfrods does allow you to see what you're looking at in person. ;)

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 14 March 2024, 05:19:09 »

Failed on both fronts lower arm ball joints, headlight adjustment and NS brake light..

Can you replace the ball joints, or is it time for new arms?
Unfortunately not, they're pressed in blind.

Unfortunately, the strut attached to them and is secured by grub screws which are prone to seizing.in place.

Booked in for next Friday.

Any unit with Bluetooth will get the job done.

If the car doesn't have Bose then it's a pretty straightforward exercise. Just go to Halfords and buy the first thing you like the look of and possibly an adapter cable :y
