Seems more than fair. Did the diagnostics throw up any hidden nasties?

No all good there , only showed that I had started it once or twice before it had completed its pre start  check so that's been cleared.

The oil seems suspiciously cheap too considering the sump capacity.. although if sold near cost and bought bulk, probably about right - so they must really like Rangie ;D

He was very concerned about what oil must be used in the Range Rover , only uses Castrol  large cans on shelves in the attached warehouse area and drums in the garage area , never seen so many Range Rovers in one garage & in the parking area, I've found a good one for sure..😁

At that price it's probably worth me driving to Peterborough for servicing!

Possibly .... to be honest I didn't ask. The front pads for my R Class, which I'd guess would be similar to my ML's, were around £100 but then a caliper decided to seize so when it was replaced I fitted £30odd Mintex via the Jamie's favourite eBay and I have to say there didn't seem to be much difference in feel.

I'll let you know when they wear out or if I don't stop!  ;D ;D

Easiest way to tell is the brake dust you get, good pads produce hardly any iron dust, cheap pads plenty. The iron dust then corrodes your alloys  :y

Not particularly, the only really expensive JLR oil is the latest for the Ingenium engines  :y

I was thinking the parts and oil sounded quite high, unless JLR branded :o

Labour looks respectable though :)

£3.50 a litre doesn't sound too bad to me, from a garage. Sure, you can get it cheaper buying it in 20ltr drums yourself..

Soz, I was referring to the filters and sundries etc. IME, pattern filters for LR products are normally ridiculously cheap. Even genuine JLR ones can be obtained reasonably.

But the OP is happy with the service and the price, that's what counts :y
