York Meet.
« on: 27 September 2008, 21:52:11 »

Hi Guys.
Well today I went to my first ever Miggy meeting, and like anybody on a first meeting I was a bit aprehensive, well all my my aprehension were completely unfounded, I was in the company of some great guys, as soon as I stepped out of my car they were there to introduce themselves, I was made most welcome, we had a chat and I mentioned that I was going to have to have a look at my passenger door lock as it wouldnt lock when I pressed the button on the Key fob, although the three other doors locked, no sooner had I mentioned my problem than the lads gathered round and started to tell me that I had to take the door panel off and get to the loom / motor inside the door, the problem was taken completely out of my hands and sorted in no time at all, I would really like to thank the guys for being such a great crowd, and aspecially thank Andy = AndyB for removing a very stubborn door panel, for Ian = IanD for the use of very slim arms that managed to just fit inside the door frame, and to Willyboy who was stood on the sidlines giving verbal instructions, Oh and for giving my Miggy its first ever drink of Coke, followed by water that had Andy doing a little jig, Thank your for you help guys, who then went on to do Ians Cambelt, also anothe couple of great guys I met were Richard dirv, OmegoV6 and Stuy112, and not to forget thanks to AndyB for the Cheese Sarni and to Mrs AndyB for the Black Coffee, I do appologise, I forgot to return your cup. Unfortunately I work fo Network Rail and it is my week to be on 24 hour call out, I had to leave early to respond to an emergency call at Thirsk, so I had to take my leave, but not before I pointed my trusty camera at the guys and got a few good shots, hope you like the pics, Once again guys, lovely to meet you, and Thanks again, I hope to get to a few more meetings.

Whose thumb is this!  ;)  :y

Ian polishing Bill's head lamps.

Ian deserves a big pat on the back for organising this week end. We had generators,  a large gazebo/scout tent and the use of a function room on the site. It's a shame that more didn't turn up to support him, as we had a great time. Still, I suppose it meant that there was more of Guy's/AmigoMV6's fantastic curry for us.  :y  :y

Did anyone pick up my black fleece?  :(

I popped along on the Friday night (in my Astra), but not too many there - Ian, Stuy, Andy B, Mrs. B and Simon....think that was it really!

I was hoping to get back today, after giving my "Omega A" a wash and brush up - unfortunately, other things kinda got in the way, so apologies!

I forgot all about it... Started tidying up, and then went to go get in the car to move it...

I glanced at the mirror just before I got in, and was like 'hmm... wheres that gone!'  ;D We left it under the car!

Remember saying to stu + rich 'I bet Marks left this for me to sort as the clips will prob snap off when I try and clip it back in!'  ;D Anyway, they didnt!

Thanks again!  :y

What an awesome weekend, most enjoyable meeting I've been from any car club/make. As a newbie on here I was made most welcome and met some great people, I didnt want the weekend to end!

Thanks to Ian for organising, Markie and his Dad for fitting my Xenons and stopping my doors clicking, and everyone else that came  :y

Cant wait for the next one  :)

I'm glad your local York meet was a success, going by feedback and pictures :y

I hope this gives people the encouragement to make one of the bigger OOF meetings next year, as well as organise smaller, local meets :y
