« on: 20 January 2017, 17:55:07 »
Does anybody still sell the fob switches found on the three button fob?

If not does anybody know if they are available from RS etc?

Mine are starting to play up.

Cheers

Omega General Help / 2.2 dti primer bulb
« on: 14 August 2016, 15:28:19 »
Hi, I want to fit a diesel primer bulb to my old bus. Looking on past posts it would look like I need one for a 10mm id pipe (pipe on car appears around 12mm o.d.) and I would be looking to put it at the front of the motor on the return to the tank (top pipe).

Does this appear to be correct.

Looking at one of these.

Any thoughts or input much appreciated.

Omega General Help / overcharging alternator 2.2Dti
« on: 26 July 2015, 10:34:00 »
Out on a run yesterday and the charge light flickered on the went out for a few seconds only to be followed by the light coming back on an all the clocks going off. Managed to drive it back home, checked the charge output and it is about 17v with the battery gassing away nicely! I take it the reg pack has gone.

I would assume there is nothing else in the system that may trigger the charge output to go so high. I also assume that I can get the reg/rectifier pack separately for the alternator. Anybody able to confirm this?

Not sure of the alternator model yet as it is pouring down at the moment so I have not got the alternator off as yet, just thought I would put it out there to see what's already known..

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / rear fog lamp switch
« on: 28 February 2015, 16:47:37 »
Hi, Can I get the rear fog lamp switch out without taking out the whole lighting switch?

It works but is a bit temperamental and if it comes out easily I will take it apart and have a go at fixing it, if not I will probably just leave it.

Easier to ask than start prodding around with a screwdriver :)

Omega General Help / Mat fixings
« on: 04 January 2015, 20:18:37 »
I need some of the fixings for the front floor mats and looking at the EPC it appears to be part no 90513305 and I need four of them.

Anybody out there confirm this part number and if they are still available from Vx?

Mats are dark grey if that makes any difference.

Omega General Help / ODB code reader
« on: 30 December 2014, 22:04:45 »
Anybody know of any reasonably priced odb code readers that work well with the 2.2dti?

I don't need it as yet but I am sure the time will come and the wife said she would get me one as a late "pressie" :y

One's that work great on the wife's Golf seem plentiful but for the Omega not so.

Omega General Help / Water pump for Dti
« on: 30 November 2014, 14:07:15 »
My water pump is starting to squeal for a time when the car is fist started, dry bearings!

Anybody used "Circoli" water pumps?

Eurocarparts sell them for a good price and they are local. :y

Its for a 2.2Dti if that makes any difference.

Omega General Help / dti crank pulley
« on: 18 July 2014, 23:15:40 »
I guys, just got in after my dti crank pulley fell apart on the way back from a glorious day at Chessington zoo. Not a good end to the day!!

What I need to know is are they still readily available and approx how much? I guess it's not worth putting a used one on there?

Are there any know difficulties in changing one?

Many questions I know.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Ignition pos 1 feed
« on: 25 June 2014, 12:40:53 »
Does anybody know the easiest place to tap into the Ignition position 1 power feed?

I need it in the dash/ glove box area if possible.

I would have thought of the back of one of the fuses would be an obvious place but open to suggestions.

Omega General Help / Elite saloon boot closing
« on: 02 May 2014, 18:06:56 »
Hi guys,

Can anyone advise me on the boot closing of their saloon. Mine feels real heavy to lift (though it stays up) and closes real hard unless you let it go from only a couple of inches open. I am thinking this can't be right (not had a saloon Omega before) and that one or both of the gas struts are knackered. I take it the boot is not meant to open right up when the buttons pressed but surely it should not be really heavy to open either.

Any advises?

Today I tried to set the front camber at -1.10 or thereabouts and found it would not quite get there and I got to around -1.15 (gauge didn't seem very accurate!) in an effort to get the camber figure lower without filing/grinding I was thinking of using these "5.81250K EIBACH Front Camber Bolts Vauxhall Omega 87-03". Has anybody used these and if so are they worth getting? The cost of these delivered (£21.95) and is a lot less than the cost of front tyres so at first glance they seems well worth the cost and effort involved.

On a different note I have been in contact with a company that produces egr valve blanking kits and eml cheaters (so the light doesn't come on) and although a kit is not available at present for the Omega 2.2 dti they hope to have one listed on fleabay by the end of the month (or thereabouts) so that may well be worth looking into to help us keep some of the crud out of the inlet manifold on one of these.

Would anybody have or know where to get a aux belt (fan belt) tensioner assembly second hand in or around the South London/ top end of Kent area for a 2.5td?

Mine had seized solid and in trying to get the thing to move I broke it!!

I can travel as still got the motorbike but prefer not to far.
