Good news, they've postponed the congestion charge :y

Now all they need to do is get rid of the bus and cycle lanes, and the traffic will flow smoothly, easing the pollution.

Why would anyone want to go to Birmingham ?  ???

My son, lives in Harbourne, with his fiancee and has just been offered a job at PWC in Central Brum.  He says he'll cycle to the office.

I like Birmingham, always have. Ever since I was a student in Coventry and the woman who is my wife was a Student nurse in Brum.

Congratulations to your son! PWC are a great business to work for and everyone I've met at the Birmingham office has been extremely nice. I qualified across the road at KPMG Brum in 2009-11 and still go regularly to both PWC and EY as they do lots of work for our team.

The transformation to the centre of Brum, just in the decade or so I've been going there has been remarkable. I rate the city centre very highly both as a place to work and to go out in.

It's just a shame that some of the areas a bit further out are so deprived (NOT Harbourne I hasten to add, that area is lovely!).

Obviously he has been working from home of late but before lockdown, he said there is an empathy with the cyclists and he arrives for work at the bike racks at the same time as one of the "partners".  Not like John Lewis Partners, these boys earn the hourly minimum wage every minute (probably).  has had a couple of interesting conversations in the lift.

On ITV player, there's a great mini series called Zomboat.
It's hilarious and sums up Birmingham well.  The Characters are very real.
