V6 Stalling after replacing Heater Bypass Valve...
« on: 07 October 2015, 23:13:54 »

I had to replace HBV mostly due to overheating and lack of eat inside of the vehicle... which is wrong on cold days
Anyways, valve replaced all back in place (almost, forgot to connect the IACV Idle air control valve) great difficult to start forced a bit and it didn't started so give up and toke a closer look found out that the plug of the IACV was disconnected! Plugged it back in place and started the engine some misfire but ok...

The car is stalling every time i let the engine get back to normal RPM idle (+/-700 RMP) I guess the engine suddenly get beneath 500 RPM and goes to 1100+/- but, most of the times shutdowns unexpectedly. I have read ECU for errors and found out that the IACV was getting voltage beneath 12V (low voltage) had it replaced and same troubles has not changed a BIT!

Need some help out here please.

Try unplugging maf sensor - if it cures you need new maf sensor.  Had similar fault on old Elite and maf was faulty.  HTH

The strange thing is: Why just after removing the inlet manyfold? I believe is related with it... but thanks for the tip anyway the mass air flow would rase up an error and that would be logged in ECU

Also double check that all of your vacumn pipework is in place, one little pipe off will play hell with the idle

Rechecked all vacuum hoses and everything is in the right place. Disconnected all the possible plugs (idle controller, MAF, etc) nothing the symptoms remain the same!
The engine gets RPM lower and lower and suddenly the engine injects petrol rising up the rpm avoiding this way shutdown, sometimes it fails... and gets  shutdown.
Possible scenarios? Is this a MAF generic fail symptom? Wont this get logged in ECU? Going for a second code fault read...

ECU reading states:

12 Diagnosis initiation/separator (indicates beginning/end of fault code list)
19 Incorrect RPM signal (Crankshaft sensor - incorrect signal)
21 Throttle position sensor - voltage high
37 Brake lamp switch

No more IACV error low voltage anyway...

Have you reconnected the throttle pot?

Also, code 19 is bad news of impending crank shaft sensor

Throttle pot = throttle cable?
If so that yes :)
The code 19 is there for years... perhaps that is the problem!

I been reading http://oldsite.omegaowners.com//forum/YaBB.pl?num=1285583967

I never done any maintenance at the butterfly system or what so ever... but my mechanic probably did it I just wonder if the tolerance of the butterflies are ok?
As stated if wrong tolerance than  it can lead to this kind os trouble! What do you think about all of this?

Disconnected battery cable for 30" I guess I have done ECU reset...
New reading:

19 Incorrect RPM signal (Crankshaft sensor - incorrect signal)
21 Throttle position sensor - voltage high
73 Air flow sensor - voltage low

Did you plug in all the loom plugs at the throttle housing and the trumpet?

If so disconnect, clean, refit and wiggle as required.
