rear window misting up
« on: 14 November 2014, 22:32:52 »

Read all the threads on front window misting up. How do I stop the back one misting up it only seams to clear when I have the rear heater on and it has been driven for about 10 minutes.

Unblock the vent in the boot first aid cupboard? Mine did this last week. Some stuff had moved in the cupboard and completely blocked it.

Probably made worse by the fact we are currently getting soaked before getting in the cars. The long list of causes I posted on the other thread are valid.

As chrisgixer says, those exhaust vents in OSR cubby hole need to be clear - its tempting to ram rags, bags, cargo nets and other assorted shite in there, but it does severely reduce ventilation through the car...  ...and the Omega doesn't have much to start with!

HRW only evapourates the moisture forming on window, not get rid of it, so when it turns off, it will re-form.

Driving a few miles on a dry day with rear windows open about 1" will help immensely. If its wet, drop the rear seat armrest and its little hatch, to get airflow through, and clear those exhaust vents!

Nothing in this cupboard apart from a spider getting a free ride

Last time i checked the spare wheel well it had been blocked up with a rag that was soaking wet and rusted the drain hole  :( All fixed now with a nice clear drain/vent hole  :) Worth checking  :y

A drain in each corner. The fronts drain down the A post & I assume into the sills at the front like my Manta did. The rears drain through the boot ... you can see a black plastic pipe behind the panel where the first aid kit would live and in front of the spare wheel well.
Pour water into the sunroof 'gutter' and check it drains away

Just like that :y four or so metres of wire cable should do the trick if they need clearing...
