Indicator help please
« on: 20 November 2014, 13:47:04 »

Hi,
Wife has just phoned to say indicator lights are on on the dashboard but not flashing and when looked outside all the indicators are lit but also not flashing,
Car starts and drives fine with no other lights illuminated on dash
Any thoughts would be most appreciated :y :y :y

Start with 20 odd pushes on the hazzard switch.

May be the sort of issue caused by that sticking a little.

Cheers AndyB and debug.  :y That makes it easier to do in the lovely Cornish rain,
Hopefully that's the problem, although nearest scrappy is 15 miles and stealers is 25 miles,  :(

Well. Pulled the flasher unit and still on, pulled fuse 2 still on. Pulled fuse 12 as both are listed as flasher fuse. Fuse 12 has turned them off, but when you use indicator stalk with fuse out both indicators flash at the same time and also dash (radio/temp)screen flashes on and off in time with the indicator?  :-[
After speaking with swmbo it transpires alarm was going off when she got back to car and this is when trouble started. Could it possibly be the alarm ecu?

Could try resetting it :-\ Not sure how though...

Also vaguely recall having to change a yellow relay behind the glovebox, but can't remember if it was my current estate or my first one :-[ it was indicator related though...

I always worry about removing relays....they need a lot of force to be removed but the thing that holds them is made of cheese.
