computer display

car has been standing for a while. On restart set codes for readouts but after a week display reads "message" and I can not find a way in all other functions seem normal I am assuming it is an audio problem .Any ideas please ?

Without Knowing what year or Head Unit you have guessing its your Traffic Master. TM button left side of steering wheel.

more info the car doesn't have traffic master the word "message" appears on the readout where the radio info is shown  the only way I can get into it is to disconnect battery and recode radio works until brake pedal is pressed to allow gear selection (auto) other than this car is fine wondering now if it is brake problem there is no mention in book of the word "message" on screen

The computer in my car doesn't display the radio station or the cd track your listening to.. Its blank in the middle of the display.. Only when I turn radio off I get the day,date and year on show... This is the 3rd unit ive had in this car and all have had same result... So what's going on with my computer??

If you have a non GM fitted unit you won,t get any info. as it,s not connected to the display. As you say, when you turn
unit off, normal messages reappear. Nothing wrong with your MID.

May I point out that I do get the range, outside temp, trip distance ect at the top and the time at the bottom... Just incase my post mislead you.
