Put Zeke back together again, with fresh new exhaust manifold gaskets. Currently on an extended coffee break while I "let the coolant drain through". Not that I've started looking into old BTCC cars and lost half of my life on Youtube...!
Lazy bastard.  ;D

Lazy and with the attention span of a four year old on acid, thank you...

Topped up the coolant after yesterdays session of bleeding the cooling system[all thankfully appears good :y]will now use it locally for a while to "prove"it and hopefully it'll be good to go to Billing in September for the Vauxfest show.

Went Omega shopping this afternoon. New camshaft sensor, new generator belt. Good brands, no ebay junk. 100 Euro at my local dealer. Will do the replacement next weekend. Changed some sealings a week ago. No new oil drops on my parking lot  :)

I am not forced to drive an old Omega. I simply like it.

Filled it up after run to Kent, old school calculations suggest tad under 30mpg. Clearly not trying hard enough.  :D

Joking aside, cruised at ~80mph there and back, M25 traffic slowing and speeding up. So quite happy with that. First time in ages, in fact over a year since it’s done a non-work long run. Hence I was interested to know.

Parked in multi-story at work, as I wanted to keep it cool. Normally use lift share bays, but it will cook out there today.

No normal spaces left, so squeezed the 3.2 into one of them 'Compact' spaces for smaller cars.

Fits well  :D

Cleaned and treated the front seats in the trolley and booked it in to have the aircon regassed.

Also fitted an old ccr2005 to the Omega in order to make it 'complete' ready for its new final home having provisionally sold it.

Took the Omega for its MOT test and it failed on headlight aim (HID) - N/S too low and too far to the right. It was a Depo? unit and no matter what I did, it just stayed too low. Changed it for a spare second hand Hella unit which I'd bought last year, plugged it in and hey presto all sorted. Took it back and got my certificate.

Moral of this story is that not everything that glistens is gold... Depo looked nice out of the box (and on the car), but just didn't seem compatible with the control equipment / motor from the original unit.

You did adjust it to the correct drive position? There's a slip of paper in the box highlighting it...
