I drove mine to work tonight rather than the 190, just because the Omega has freshly regassed aircon. According to the Omega, the outside temperature was 35.5 degrees !

Not my car, but my sister's Hyundai.

I've done the service and the MOT work - both CV boots, both handbrake cables, freed off the rear brakes(again!) and replaced the knackered anti-rollbar bushes. I lent her the Metro while I had her car, and true to form it's come back with problems - she's somehow managed to split its CV boots too. I never learn, she's the only person I've ever met who can break a cambelt in a petrol station :o

Cracked the rear window. 'dangle berries'.

Is that covered by windscreen insurance?

Howdathapen ? Not cold water by chance ?
No idea. Wasn't like it when I parked it Sunday evening. Was like it when I jumped in it yesterday.

No sign of impact etc, so would have to surmise it was the heat :(

I have to say the XJ's AC is very good, except...

...it doesn't appear to come on until you start moving.  So can't just start the car up and come back 10mins later, as it will still be roasting :(

Handy for, say, sitting in Folkestone for a couple of hours waiting to get on board.  ::)

As far as I can work out, its fine if the car has moved. Its just starting it and not moving it that's the problem.

Probably some emissions cheat or something ;D

Apparently it didn't have much gas in it, but no obvious leaks... Either way, it was a much more pleasant trip to work 8)

And a pleasant surprise that the condenser is still intact after 171k miles.

Put my cataclean (not to be confused with terraclean) in the fuel tank. It really stinks 😝
Yes it stinks, still not figured out how they get the cat to piss in such a small spout  :-\
I've used catac;lean for many years with good results(on PETROL cars in the family fleet. :) )
some say it is snake oil
I usually run the tank down to 1/4, add cataclean, drive till the fuel light comes on, then refill the tank with fresh go go juice. just before MOT
I don't know how effective catacleaan would be on modern dirty diesel cars with DPFs  :-\
Good luck with it Mr Stemo
